Meet The Calm & Caring Dentistry Team
Dr Carl Taylor - Practice Owner
Hi, I’m Carl Taylor, the owner of Taylored Dental Care.
I am married to Alicia. We met several years ago dental school, well she was at medical school. We got married a couple of years ago and we had our first daughter in November 2014.
I chose a career in dentistry after a scout camp believe it or not. The military had come down with their death slide. We were practising a parachute drop, but one of the buckles hadn’t been tied up properly and flew up in my face breaking my front tooth.
I trained to be a dentist in Leeds, starting in 1997. After graduating I studied for the diploma in Restorative Dentistry Royal College. In addition I trained to do dental sedation, several orthodontic systems and quite a few managerial courses.
I really like snowboarding, kite surfing and windsurfing. In fact I enjoy anything that involves any sort of water based activity.
David Veige - Implantologist
Originally from Toronto Ontario, Canada, David qualified firstly as a dental technician from George Brown Collegue and then as a dentist from the University of Newcastle with a distinction in academic dentistry and the top restorative dentistry prize. He was shortlisted for the Young Dentist of the Year UK at The Dentistry Awards in 2009 and has been awarded membership to the Royal College of Surgeons Joint Dental Faculty by way of examination.
He graduated with merit from the University of Warwick with a MSc. degree in Implant Dentistry. He is currently studying a MClinDent at King’s College, London in fixed and removable prosthodontics. He is a member of the ITI (International Team for Implantology) and ADI an organization focused on advancing the science of implant dentistry. David’s practice is limited to implant and advanced restorative dentistry.
David lectures both nationally and internationally on the digital and laboratory aspects of implant dentistry. He is the director of Smile Designs Dental Laboratory, a private boutique laboratory focused on high quality crown, bridge and implant restorations.
Bleu Carlisle - Group Practice Manager
Hello, My name is Bleu Carlisle and I am Taylored Dental Care’s Practice Manager. I started working for Taylored Dental Care 3 years ago as a Dental Nurse. I worked very closely with our implantologists ensuring patients journeys were of a high standard. I very much enjoyed Sedation Nursing as I loved being able help put patients anxieties at ease.
I became Team Leader of our Idle practice and soon after I stepped up into a Clinical Management role. I now manage all 4 of our practices and although at times this can be challenging, I love my role and being able to drive Taylored Dental Care forward. I am passionate about my chosen proffesion within Taylored Dental Care, enabling my team to be the very best they can be, while growing with us. I love that our team help so many patients who may never have had a pleasant dental experience.
My role is varied. From ensuring we are compliant with specific registered bodies to the general running on the business on a daily basis, however there is one thing that will never change. I strive for excellent customer service and would like all of our patients to have only the best experience with us here at Taylored Dental Care. I am contactable to all patients via my email, email@example.com or by telephoning any of our practices.
Outside of work I love spending time with my very active and crazy 5 year old son Harry and partner Steve. I love the outdoors and going anywhere that I can put my wellies on! Walks through the woods and visiting the Yorkshire Dales. I love crime documentaries and always wanted to be a police officer when I was a child. In the future I would love to own a small farm with various animals but a horse is definintely essential!
Sarah Carr - Hygiene Therapist
Hello, I’m Sarah the Dental Hygienist and Therapist here at Taylored Dental Care. You may see myself for treatments such as gum treatments, fillings, whitening treatments, aesthetic dentistry and pediatric dentistry.
My dental career began 14 years ago as a nurse and I then qualified with a merit as a Therapist in 2012 at the University of Leeds. I thoroughly enjoy my profession and I have proudly won many awards for outstanding achievement throughout my training.
My main passion is to help my patients achieve a smile that they are truly proud of! I strive to always make a positive influence in their journeys, to get the best possible outcome for each individual patient. I also really love aesthetic dentistry and take great pleasure in completing white fillings and whitening treatments for my patients. The most satisfying aspect of my job is seeing someone’s confidence rocket, through the help and treatment they have received from ourselves!
A lot of my spare time is taken up looking after my lovable rogue of a Springer Spaniel Mylo, with whom there is never a dull moment. When I do have time I love to travel and visit beautiful cities, with Italy and Prague being some of my favorites.
Nicola Smith - Dental Nurse
Hi, I’m Nicola and I’m the Dental Nurse here at our Ilkley practice.
I qualified in 2011 and thoroughly enjoy my job. I enjoy meeting new people, helping patients and being part of the team here at Taylored Dental Care.
I have two children, Thomas and Olivia and enjoy spending my free time going on family days out.
Niaomi - Patient Care Coordinator
Hello my name is Niaomi and I am the Patient Care Coordinator at Taylored Dental Care. I live with my wonderful partner and two children and enjoy spending time with my family.
I returned to education following the birth of my second child and after a long 5 year journey I graduated last year with an MSc in Phychology and wellbeing.
This has helped with my role at TDC as I am often the first voice that people hear when they call and for those patients that are nervous or phobic, this allows me to have a greater understanding of how they are feeling.
Stacy Slinger - Receptionist
Hello, I’m Stacy, the receptionist at Taylored Dental Care in Ilkley.
I thoroughly enjoy coming into work and meeting new patients, catching up with existing ones and following the journeys of those having cosmetic dentistry.
In my spare time I love nothing more than baking, often with my two children, going to the theatre and enjoying meals out with friends.
